Home About Steven Ellis

YouthPitching.com is brought to you by Steven Ellis, a two-time MLB Draft pick and former pitcher in the Chicago Cubs organization.

Over the last 16 years, I’ve helped more than 40,000 pitchers learn how to pitch better. No short cuts or magic bullets. Just great youth pitching instruction, a plan that's age appropriate for ages 7-14 and a community to help you succeed.

Here's more about my baseball experience:

  • Pitched in college for Bradley University (Peoria, IL) on a full NCAA Division 1 baseball scholarship (1997-2001).

  • Earned multiple Missouri Valley Conference awards and honors.

  • Hold numerous all-time single-season and career pitching records for Bradley Baseball.

  • Drafted by the Oakland A's (2000) and Chicago Cubs (2001) – signed with the Cubs.

  • Converted from a starter to a closer and thrived in the role, becoming one of the most successful relievers in the Chicago Cubs' minor league organization during the 2001-2003 seasons.

  • Named one of the organization’s Top 5 relief pitching prospects, according to Baseball America, before being sidelined by a career-ending shoulder injury while fielding a ground ball.
